In class on Tuesday, we practiced doing some transformations in the style of Raymond Queneau. Post the transformations we did in class (see Text Book pgs. 157-161). First, post the one that you wrote on your own and the transformation of your partner’s into a different style. Then, read the other transformations and vote on them using two categories: most consistent to the stylistic principle and the most creative use of the stylistic principle. Send your votes to me in an e-mail <njelley@ufl.edu>. You must vote in order to receive full credit for the response. The winners of each category (“Most Consistent” and “Most Creative”) will receive bonus points.

Henry, Caranston Police Department: “it was a big lump of frozen cutlets,” and “She hit him at least twice.” Boyfriend, 48, cuts on top of head and under eye. Not life threatening. Found bleeding and wandering outside. Anonymous 911 call. Zarski arrested without incident. Found chicken bag, photographed and put back in freezer. Zarski held at station on felony charge. Scheduled arraignment today Sixth District Court, Providence.

Rachel Scott, first to be fired at, 17 years old, shot at head, torso and leg, Killed instantly. Murders wearing trench coats, hid gun on waist. Gunmen planted bombs for distraction. 11:24 police finally arrived. Event left scar on America’s back.
Passive transformation
In the predawn hours of April 22 eight SWAT agents entered the home of Lázaro González to seize Elian Gonzalez, in attempt to reunite him with his father. The agents knocked on the door and addressed themselves. Even though no one responded they entered the house. The agents used mace against those who tried to interfere. The agents searched the house while Elian’s relatives quietly waited in a room. Once the agents found the locked room the forcefully kicked the door and pointed a machine gun at young Elian. This was when Alan Diaz took his Pulitzer Prize winning photograph.

In the midst of Tragedy
Nine eleven scare
I transformed Josh’s Precision piece into a Double Entry:
On the 26th of October at 12:23 P.M. at the corner of Oak Shire and Holland or Holland and Oak Shire, two boys as a couple of boys approached and walked to the door of Jay Levin a 5’11 accountant of medium build with 20 200 vision. The boys, or two young males, Mark Drewes and Vitaly Andron are 5′ 11 and 6′ 2 respectively. Mark is chunky, and slightly overweight at about 180 pounds while Vitaly is a brawny, strong, and muscular 195. They walk at the slow, turtle pace of 6 MPH in the direction towards the brown oak wood door of Jay Levin. Jay Levin’s home is a 4 bedroom 2 Bath Victorian style and inside currently resides a 5′ 5 38 yr old women lady whom works and attend work with Jay Levin and whom he is having an affair, or out-of-office romance with that has lasted 7 months and 13 days, or a little over 7 months.
Mark approaches the door with his left foot in the direction of, and towards the door while his right is not present, facing away from the door to help and aid in running away swiftly, and quickly. He knocks and thumps on the door three times with 13psi of force and power on the door. The sound and noise is four decibels when it reaches the ears of Jay Levin. He quickly but speedily rises up to his feet from his bed places his left foot on the ground and next his right. He opens his third drawer on his closet of clothes and wardrobe and pulls out and draws his 9mm browning high power. He loads the bullet with 9mm flack style exploding cartridges. He runs to the door at approximately 14 mph and unlocks the doors and opens it before his momentum stops and ceases. Mark Drewes looks to see the door open and dashes a run away at 17 mph laughing and giggling. Jay Levin grasps and holds his gun up and fires it towards Mark Drewes back, and shoots him in the back. The bullet travels at 350m/s and strikes and hits Mark Drewes at 2 inches below his clavicle perforating and puncturing his right lung causing them to collapse, give way and die of asphyxiation.

In April of 1999, twelve students and a teacher had been killed and 23 others were wounded. The names of the men were Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold. This incident had occured at Columbine High School. The massace had increased regulations regarding gun control and school security. One of the young men was 18 years old and the other had been 17 years old at the time. The events had occured at around the time of 11:14 am. Eric Harris was spotted warning his friend Brooks Brown to leave the premises before the shooting had initiated.
The first student to have been fired at in the massacre was Rachel Scott. She had been 17 years old and was shot in the head, torso, and leg. Rachel Scott was killed instantly. The two murderers were wearing trench coats to conceal the guns they had carried on their waists. The gunmen had planted bombs to distract the students at the time. It wasn’t until 11:24 am until a police officer had made his way to the scene. Many would say the entire event left a scar on America’s back.

During the dog days of summer a debate that was as heated well as a bitch in heat began between toad who hoped to become a prince and wolf in sheep’s clothing. They doggedly discussed ant sized things. They kept arguing back and forth from larval stage to death. There were three people in the debate; the lost puppy was the third. The debate seemed to focus the wolf in sheep’s clothing and the toad who hoped to become a prince.
On the issue of the cock fights, the wolf in sheep’s clothing wanted to devour the competition. The toad who wanted to become a prince wants to bring the rooster’s home an care for them like a marsupial its mothers pouch. The responses were between the wolf and sheep’s clothing and the toad who wanted to become prince leaving wise elephants out of it. Each candidate was trying to gain the support of the elephants peanut gallery.
Notation:
During Monday night heated debate between Obama and Clinton. They discussed about proposals on economy and health care. They kept arguing back and forth from beginning till the end. There were three people in the debate, Edwards was the third one. The debate seemed to focus on Hillary and Obama only.
On the issue of Iraq, Clinton wants to end it and win it. Obama wants to bring the troops home quickly and safely. The responses were between Clinton and Obama leaving the panel moderators out of it. Each candidate was trying to gain the support of many voters as possible.
Terese’s Haiku Transformed into Narrative:
On September 11, 2001, there were a series of attacks against the United States by al-Qaeda. That morning, 19 Islamist terrorist hijacked four commercial planes. They intentially crashed two of the airliners into the twin towers of the world trade center in New York City. Both buildings collapsed within two hours, killing many that were inside.
Then the hijackers crashed the third airliner into the Pentagon near Shanksville in Pennsylvania, killing everyone on board. There were no survivors from any of the flights, tallying a total of 2,974 people that died in the attacks. It was a tragedy that united America through the midst of a terrorist attack.

Notation form of my story
In Gaza while the Israeli army rolls in. The soldiers carry guns and
shout at the Palestinians they see. Two solders aim guns at a group of
children. They shoot into the group and kill three. The group
scatters, running away from the fallen. Two bombs explode near the
soldiers. The soldiers duck. The Palestinian kids fall to the ground.
Gunfire flies at the soldiers from a building near them. The soldiers
return fire. One solder selects a Palestinian boy and walks him toward
the building, shielding himself. The gun shots silence. The soldier
and the boy enter the house.
Notation Transformation of Elian
Eight SWAT agents knock on the door of Lazarro Gonsolas. The agents
say their name, but no one answers. They bust into the home. SWAT
sprays mace at people in the house trying to stop them. People outside
throw rocks and bottles. The agents look around the house. They ask
for Elian. No one would answer. The agents search and finds a locked
room. One agent forcefully kicks the door down. The agents points a
machine gun into the room. The gun is in the face of young Elian. A
shutter snaps and Alan Diaz takes a picture.
Notation.
Armed agents raid Home Saturday Morning. Take custody of Elian. 20 agents arrived at 5a.m.. Man and Women brought Elian out, put him in a white van, drove away. Protestors tried stopping agents. Shortly after raid protestors increased. Deal made issued immediate custody of Elian to his father. Miami family didnt agree. Taking care of him since November when his mother died. They appealed court decision. Father counter appealed. Father asked Reno when he was going to get his son. Reno could not commit to a particular course of action.

While the Berlin Wall was up, there were 98 confirmed deaths while trying escape to the West but it is assumed that at least 200 were killed. In the year 1989, the road to the fall of the wall began. On August 23rd, 1989 Hungry and Austria’s border was opened. Over 13,000 people fled Hungry to Austria. On October 18th, 1989 the leader of East Germany, Erich Honecker resigned. On November 4th, 1989 protests began in Alexanderplatz in Berlin. On November 9th, the restrictions on the Berlin Wall were lifted. On October 3rd, 1990 Germany was reunified.
